Dr Matt Wright (Principal Consultant) and Dr Patrick Friend (US Business Development Director) were in attendance at last week’s (January 9th-12th 2017) Ninth International Conference on Remediation and Management of Contaminated Sediments Hosted by Battelle in New Orleans. Dr Matt Wright presented a paper on “Monitoring and Mapping the Transport Pathways of Contaminated Sediments Using Dual Signature Tracer: Two Case Studies” which described the methodology adopted, and the two field studies undertaken, during the soon to be completed, ESTCP Demonstration project undertaken in conjunction with the US Navy’s SPAWAR division.
Dr Wright commented “The conference was very well attended, as busy as we have ever seen it, and there were a huge number of very interesting and highly robust research papers and posters presented. It is a conference that we at Partrac make a point of attending each year due to the quality, scope and breadth of the work being presented; the opportunity to meet up with old friends in the contaminated sediments arena and to meet like-minded colleagues with interesting sediment management problems and remedial solutions.
